Please join us in celebrating the legacy and spirit of service of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In addition to various speakers, films and other events, one major aspect of MLK Week is the Day of Service. On Campus NYU students, staff and faculty have the opportunity to volunteer for a variety of service sites throughout New York City on Saturday, January 23, 2010.
The MLK Day of Service is designed to give students an opportunity to participate in a variety of one-day volunteer projects such as soup kitchens, painting projects and many others. Volunteers may sign-up at:

Hey UHALLERS,
Have you heard? The MTA is going to vote this Wednesday on massive service cuts: Longer delays for subways, buses and commuter lines. Two subway lines the (the W and Z) could be eliminated. Over 50 bus lines canceled or shrunk. And free fare for hundreds of thousands of public school students gone. The worst part is, transit experts say much of the cuts aren’t necessary. I am getting ready to show solidarity with the Iranian social justice movement on 12/12/09, the first Saturday after International Human Rights Day. United4Iran is a global network of individuals and groups committed to advocating for human rights in Iran.
