Jenn Sheridan, Residence Hall Director
Jennifer “Jenn” Sheridan is University Hall’s Residence Hall Director (RHD).
Jenn is originally from a small city called Farmington, NM and moved for the first time in 2000 to Albuquerque, NM. There she attended the University of New Mexico (UNM) where she majored in Political Science and minored in History.
At UNM Jenn joined the Chi Omega sorority, became an orientation leader, and remained heavily involved with the student government serving two consecutive terms as student body president. Jenn realized that her mentors in college helped to shape the person she became and she wanted to provide that same motivation and support for other college students. A year after graduating from UNM, Jenn moved to Oxford, OH to obtain a masters degree in College Student Personnel at Miami University.
During this time Jenn had a plethora of student affair’s experiences within residence life, academic advising, and student activities. After graduating in 2007 with her masters degree, Jenn spent time as an Educational Talent Search Advisor assisting 7th-12th grade first generation college bound students to prepare for college and educate them about the higher education subculture.
Jenn lives in U-Hall with her partner, Matt Sheridan, and her two cats Clover and Maximus.
Mike Palazzo, Residence Hall Assistant Director
Mike Palazzo is excited to be joining the UHall community this year as its RHAD! Mike has been a member of the NYU Residential Life community since he was an undergrad living in Rubin Hall. Many years and many residence halls later (including Rubin, Palladium, Founders, and Lafayette), he is happy to be taking on a new role back in his old neighborhood. Mike received his BA (politics/history) and MA (Social Studies Education) from NYU, and is actually a NYS certified high school history teacher. In fact, he’ll be starting his 6th year instructing U.S. History and Government on weekends at NYU’s Upward Bound Program. An avid reader, Mike can usually be found with some book in his hand, and is happy to talk to you about all things Lincoln.
Betty Williams, Residence Hall Resource Manager
Betty Williams says, “I am excited to begin my second year as the Resource Manager at University Hall! I live in Brooklyn in the very diverse Crown Heights neighborhood, where I have lived for most of my life. I studied communications at the College of New Rochelle, where I earned my BA in 2002. I look forward to helping build community here at UHall, and make your residential experience fun and interesting. Stop by and visit me some time at the Resource Center!

Adit Dileep says: “I’m currently a Senior at the Stern Business School, and am looking forward to a career in consulting in the future. I’ve got strong interests in a lot of aspects of film, so it’s definitely something I’m looking to spend more time pursuing. And while I’ve always listened to music, I’ve begun to pay close attention to music composition and editing, which seems to pique my interests. Whether it’s watching or playing most sports, I’m your guy-basketball, soccer, tennis–you name it. I’m looking forward to being involved with UHall this year and excited for the new things coming our way.”
Erika Dorbad is the 2nd floor RA and is excited to work with the amazing UHall staff and residents to plan great events for our hall. Erika is a senior in Steinhardt studying Childhood Education/Special Education and History and would like to teach in New York City when she graduates. Her favorite area of the city is Tribeca because of all it’s great restaurants and shops, and she loves taking walks on the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge. Her favorite show of all time is “Gilmore Girls,” so anytime you’d like to watch an episode, stop by 205!
Devin Ershow is pleased to be returning to UHall for his third year in residence. Two years ago he served as the building’s PEPS (Peers Educating Peers on Substances) Peer Educator, and this year he is returning as the RA on the 5th floor. As a senior in Tisch studying film, he obviously enjoys talking about and going to movies. Look for some film oriented programming! Movies aren’t his only thing though. He enjoys listening to Coldplay, pretending to be good at guitar (he’s not), and doing stand up around the city. Keep it easy, keep it light, and welcome to UHall!
Sapna Kakwani is the 4th floor RA this year and is very excited about living on campus after studying abroad in Madrid (Spring ’09) and then commuting last school year. She is currently a senior in the College of Nursing and is also working towards a minor in Cultural Anthropology. Her greatest passion is, of course, nursing, and also working with children; thus, her future interests lie in pediatrics, but she is keeping an open mind as she progresses through her last year of nursing courses. Apart from nursing, Sapna enjoys practicing yoga, spending time with her sisters, traveling, shopping at Urban Outfitters, listening to John Mayer and watching Friends and Glee. She has a lot of fun programming ideas to share and is open to ideas! If you’re an early riser, you might see her in her royal purple scrubs and the must-have cup of coffee in her hands. FYI: If you ever need a bandage, you know where to go.
Yaseen Karim is the RA on the 14th floor. Currently a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences, he is majoring in Economics while on the Pre-Med track. Yaseen is very excited to about living in UHall this year and getting to interact with his residents on a personal level. In addition he is excited about being a part of the amazing staff here. Outside of RAing, he works as an EMT in Brooklyn and hopes to be at medical school in the coming years. During down time he enjoys reading, ping-pong, movies and eating.
Cherie Montoya is excited to work with the UHall staff and residents this year as a new RA on the 12th floor. She is a senior in CAS double majoring in Journalism and Art History. She loves to watch movies, hang out with friends, eat, and meet new people.
Lilly Nhan is excited to join the UHall community as the RA for the 8th floor. Lilly is a junior in Steinhardt studying Nutrition and Dietetics along with a pre-med concentration. Throughout the year you can probably catch her baking endless amounts of cakes and cookies, watching her favorite television shows How I Met Your Mother and Dexter, and last but certainly not least, planning/attending U-Hall’s stellar programs! She enjoys delicious meals, desserts involving the combination of chocolate and mint, and generally roaming about and exploring New York City. Most of all, she is looking forward to a spectacular year at U-Hall.
Chris Nolan is excited to be the 9th floor RA in UHall for the upcoming year! The 9th Floor is the World Cultures Explorations Floor, which basically means lots of exciting programs and amazing experiences! Chris is focusing his studies on Rights to Equality in Gallatin and plans to pursue a Masters in Public Administration or attend Law School after college. In his spare time, Chris enjoys exploring new places throughout the five boroughs, trying different foods (he’ll try everything once), and spending time with friends. Fun facts about Chris? He went skydiving this summer, is fluent in Spanish, and loves Entourage.
Liane Tomasetti is excited to be joining the UHall staff this year as the 3rd Floor RA and to be returning to the city after spending the spring semester studying abroad in Spain! She is a junior studying Educational Theatre at Steinhardt! She enjoys cake decorating, soccer and working with children in her free time! Joseph Waslin is excited to be joining the UHall staff this year as the Resource Center Assistant (RCA) after previously working as an OA; also, he is excited to return to New York after studying abroad in Accra last semester! A native Long Islander, he is a junior studying History and Journalism as well as recently adding a Documentary Film minor to his studies after he made a short documentary film while in Ghana. In his spare time he enjoys exploring NYC, reading fiction and nonfiction (currently he is reading graphic novels and fantasy), eating baby carrots, and watching the Mets lose.
Samuel Wu is the RA on the 13th floor. Originally from East Brunswick, New Jersey, he is a junior in Stern studying finance and computer science. He enjoys rowing on the NYU Crew team and exploring the cultural treasures of NYC during his free time. His favorite television shows are Mad Men and How I Met Your Mother. Above of all, he is excited to get to know all his residents and have a great year at NYU!

Matthew Yazge says, “Hey UHall! My name is Matt and I’m the RA on the 11th floor this year (I’m also the one in the above picture that unfortunately does not have a snooki bump-it hairstyle). I’m a senior in Stern, studying marketing and minoring in creative writing. I enjoy long walks on the beach, home cooked meals, and fireside chats. Usually I end up having to deal with a walk down the Hudson, Dunkin’ Donuts, and chatting by the warm glow of the UHall Commons plasma screens. Be on the lookout this semester for awesome programs that may or may not include the New York Red Bulls, coffee tasting, general excitement and hysteria, and/or a building-wide cook-off. If you see me around, holla back!”
Mel Zahnd is the RA for the 16th, 17th and 18th floors. He lives in room 1605. He is a senior, majoring in Cinema Studies and English Literature. This is his fourth (and last) year in UHall, so he is looking forward to making this year, the most memorable one of all.
